Basics of training

Concepts of education and training are closely linked with each other, but they are not the same. Trained dog is not behaved and not vice versa. That fact, that the dog has obedience trials, does not mean that he can behave in the bus, or you will go without problems on a leash on a busy street.

Rule number one is the right education. From puppy age socialize the dog, and thereby actually prepare for future training. Education is the basis for training. Meet the term socialization of the puppy. In short - age between 7-8 week to about 3 months, is the dog the most responsive and the most important period of his life. What you neglect now, to correct is very difficult. Dog should be familiar with as many stimuli, ie people, vehicles, with strange dogs, with anything else in life encounters and what is not to be afraid of. Education thus good dog that is not afraid. Puppy fails to maintain attention for so long and everything is a game for him. With play he learns, what is allowed and what is not. When older, his training will be easier. Not neglect this period and do not take it easy. It is a cute little puppy, but the puppy realizes that he is forgiven everything and then it will pay out. Educate him from the first day.

Education and training go hand in hand with relationship with the dog - and the dog handler. There must be friendship, but also consistency from the handler and his natural authority. The dog is accustomed to the sequence in the hierarchy, and he has clearly identified place in the pack (in the family is on the last place even after grandma and even a baby) will be happier. We should always be the leader, and we show him what is allowed and what is not, what will we do now, and the like. If we do not have it clear, he may think, that as a leader we are poor and he will try to take "leadership". The consequences I must not write down. When training we must be consistent and not miss something. But not misplace consistency and hardness. Especially if it does not pay out by wolfdogs. Consistency means, that after issuing the command must be followed performance and does not care if the command issued by the dog owner or his wife. The dog must obey. Command must be pronounced clearly, comprehensibly and always the same. After pronouncing insist on finish it, otherwise the dog will think, that if he does not do it at first time, we give up, and he has free time.

With exaggerated toughness, drill or hit the dog, will achieve nothing, just that your dog is afraid, which can lead to aggression, respectively shyness. Establish your relationship on friendship and fairness. Remember reward for the work and once the situation wants punishment, choose one, that is appropriate to the age and situation. Stretched on the skin, just like did the mother to puppy, whip leash, voice rising pronounced "NO" ... Punishment should not be pain, but annoying sensation and then desired change in behavior of the dog, if correct, price him and thus again let be friends.

Degree of training must correspond to the age and mental state of mind of the dog. Not wait a perfect recalling from puppies two months old. Training must be gradual, build on previous exercises and experience and if the dog did not mastered one exercise, do not move to higher grade. Puppy training is different than training an adult dog.

The idea - I'll give to train the dog to someone else and he will obey me, it is often by the newcomers, but by this breed is deeply concerned and and error. Wolfdog is smart. Will obey his master and that, in whom he sees alpha, authority leader. That you give him to someone will only mean - trainer is alpha, I will listening to him. You, as the owner, must be prepared to work with the dog throughout his life. Cooperation with the trainer, who has experience of the dog - not Shepherd Dogs and other common breeds - possibly with a person with an understanding of the breed, is essential, but the basics done by yourself. Its relationship with your dog, not a relationship with trainer and your dog.
