The never ending topic - how to feed a dog. Most people think, that they just go to the store and buy the cheapest granulated food and the dog is happy. Or they think, the best granulated food is, which is has the best commercial. Big mistake. Dog nutrition is a small science, but just give it a moment of your time and learn what is best for the dog. The puppy grow, thanks to your efforts, to a healthy dog, full of energy, with beautiful coat.

What kinds of food are suitable for a dog?

What you want to feed the dog is one thing, but in the end he decides, what he will eat and what not. Whether this would occur by refusing food or medical problems.

For dogs, there are many kinds of food. You find here something written about all, plus and minus, and it is up to you, how you choose. Personally, I prefer to feed raw food, sometimes cooked, side dishes and vegetables. I will not push anyone to something, everyone chooses the path of his own.

Food allergies are very common nowadays. Frequently we meet with it by dogs fed kibble. Dogs can be allergic to protein, so meat - some kinds. Frequently chicken. They occur mainly by young dogs, but can be at any age. The dog has excessive scratching, vomiting, skin rash, redness of skin, bad hair, festering rashes, ... Alergic reaction may have influence on growth of the claws - irregular growth, crooked growth...

If you know the allergen, the feeding of raw food is easier, simply skip it. Barf has the positive, that you know every single ingredient of food. If you do not know the allergen and are not sure, it's for a very long time. Try to skip the main possible allergens, such as meat kind, rice, pasta, eggs, dairy products, type of fruit or vegetables for a period of 2 - 3 weeks. The allergy to more than two food types is exceptional. If you discover an allergen, gradually add other foods, but take time for it and in such a way, determine if any other allergens occur. At minimum allergies occurs by turkey, lamb, ...

When feeding kibble, the composition must be chosen very carefully, from the hypoallergenic feeds, exotic types of proteins in combination with potatoes.
